What is the difference between keywords and meta tags? Also, can I list the same keywords and metatags on all my website pages?

Let’s say I want information on Software Development Companies in UK. I use words like ‘UK Software Development Companies’ while searching for the companies on Google. The phrase ‘UK Software Development Companies’ is a keyword. Specific words used while searching specific information on the internet are known as keywords.

Descriptive words and phrases attached to the web pages, invisible to the visitors are known as Meta tags. They help in retrieving the sites the surfer is looking for. However people with or without the knowledge of coding can view a sites Meta tags by right clicking their mouse and choosing ‘view source’. Meta tags should be used carefully while designing web pages.

Meta tags consist of Keywords, Description, Title and Note etc.

No you must use different keywords and meta tags for all your web pages as because they should be unique.

  2. you use keywords in your meta keyword tag, tags contain the keywords.
for using same keywords for all pages of you website is not a very intelligent thing you can do, to me you should select different title tag, meta keywords tag and description tag for all pages, especially your title tag should be different on all pages and should be relevant to the content of page.

  4. Keywords can be in meta tags, keywords are search terms the page is geared towards. They are the keystone of the page if you will.

If i had a site on the Yankees a few keywords i could choose to use would be

    yankees schedule
    yankees score
    yankees roster
    yankees retired numbers
    yankees news
    yankees store
    yankees forum
    yankees world series
    yankees lineup
    yankees payroll

Those are terms that people may search for. To get keywords use

and type in a word or short phrase (ex: yankees, beer, cheese)

Now on to meta tags… meta tags are little bits of code that go in the <head> of your page. These may contain keywords. there is actually a keyword meta tag.

Use Meta Tag Generator from HowRank to create those as well.
